If you have landed on this post, we are sure you have that deep desire to fill that void inside your heart. You seek true happiness and warmth? This post may provide you with that missing piece of the puzzle you’ve been trying to solve for so long. Let’s begin this heart-to-heart conversation:

We as mankind are evolving at a rapid pace. The level of intelligence we have tapped into has offered us numerous marvels. But, in this constant chase of getting more comfort and money, we have forgotten the real meaning of happiness.

Recent studies show that the next big epidemic in the world would be intense mental illnesses. And, the foremost reason behind this is our mindset to chase happiness as a prize after a winding race. Some people are happy when they are promoted… others are only happy when they get social validation! The amount of distraction in human lives has led people to fall into the pit of deep depression. You might see a person living in the most favourable conditions, but he/she suffer in silence due to the noises in his/her head.

The surge of social media influencers who show off their lavish lifestyles to us has primed us to think that something is missing in our lives, and we can only be happy when we own a big car, a luxury home, or can plan a lavish foreign trip 10 times a year! But what if we say that happiness is not a result after you ‘own’ something. Happiness is the experience of life, a choice that you make every day for your well-being. However, it is extremely difficult for people nowadays to experience this significant state of mind owing to multiple reasons.

What is the possible reason for you not being able to stay happy?

If you are someone who equates happiness with some monetary gains or worldly accolades, then you must know this joy is fleeting. You have trapped yourself in a chronic disconnection that is stealing your smile and true happiness that you are meant to experience. Now, let’s walk you through the following points to draw your attention to some crucial aspects:

  • You lack a sense of self as you have ignored your own spirit for so long to live by others’ expectations.

  • You are stuck in past incidents while being constantly anxious about the future. You never focus on the present moment.

  • You lack a purpose in life that makes you feel that your life is monotonous and meaningless.

  • You have a crowd that follows you, but you never experience real connections.

  • Your joy has been numbed, and life feels bland.

After you have gone through the above statements and focused on these with a great intensity, just take a deep breath and try to make peace with ‘the now’. Align yourself with your spirit and do the things that give you true joy( it could as simple as sipping on a cup of your favourite tea). Try to do everything with an awareness, be it compulsive buying or booking another trip to run away from yourself! You will start feeling lighter and fulfilled as you give attention to your true self.

Also, avoid comparing your life with others’ (especially the social media influencers). You have to understand that whatever you see is not 100% true. No one is perfect, everyone is flawed, and accepting our flaws with pride is what liberates us from the mental loop of shame and guilt.

A bonus brain nugget: Stop scrolling the reels on social media endlessly to drain yourself of your energy and lower your spirit. Watching people dance or show their lifestyles won’t help you feel better; it's just gonna give you a ‘fomo’ later, leaving you restless, sleepless, and anxious. You have to fight your reel addiction to make your life better!
